How do I update the player app version?

Software updates will add new features, fine-tune the product to make it the best it can be, and improve the stability of your player's software. All of these updates are aimed at making the user experience better. 


You can update the app version on your truDigital player by following the steps below:


Step 1 - Press the Home button on your remote control.

Step 2 - Select "Settings"


Step 3 - Click "Device"

Step 4 - then Select "App Update"


Step 5 - Select "Install"

Step 6 - Select "Open"



Your player is now up to date to the current App version.





If you are not near your truDigital player, follow the steps below to Remotely Update the player software -




Step 1 - From your truDigital Dashboard, go to "Player Status"



Step 2 - Select "Actions" next to the player you want to update

Step 3 - Then "Update App Version"




Step 4 - Wait 10-15 minutes for the player to remotely install the update.



Your player is now up to date to the current App version.





*Important* -- 

Your player must have a Green circle next to it on the left to remotely update, this means the player is fully online and able to pick up remote commands. 

If your player has a Red or Yellow circle next to it, please follow the steps below:



If your player is connected via wifi please go to Forgetting and Reconnecting Wifi


If your player is connected via Ethernet -- Fully unplug the player from ethernet and power for 10 seconds, then plug back in.
