How to copy a template from one playlist to another

Modified on Mon, 13 Mar 2023 at 11:07 AM

When you install a template on a playlist, that is where that template "lives".  You can always access that template on that playlist and make edits.  But what if you've already spent time configuring a template just the way you like it and decide you want the same thing on another playlist?  You can create a unique copy of that template on another playlist which can be edited independently.  Here's what you do.

Step 1 -  Click Manage Playlist on the left

Step 2 - Select Edit Playlist next to the playlist you want to COPY TO.

Locate the drop-down with the same name as this playlist.  This is the selector menu for which templates to display. When it is displaying the name of the current playlist, you are viewing templates installed on this playlist.

You can select another playlist name from this menu to display templates from another playlist.  Notice that when you select another playlist here, the playlist name at the top does not change.

Step 3 - In the drop-down, Select the playlist that contains the template you want to copy.

You are now seeing the templates installed on the playlist selected in the dropdown.  However, you are still editing the playlist originally selected.

Step 4 - Locate the template you want to copy. Click it then select Copy.

You will see a brief loading icon, then the page will refresh and display the template installed on the playlist you originally opened.

You will now see a new copy of the template you set up on a different playlist.  This template can be edited independently of the other.  Changes to the copy will not affect the original.
