Legacy Tutorial: How To Add A Youtube Video To A Playlist

To confirm you're using the Legacy version, check the left-hand menu after logging in.

If you see 'Manage Playlist,' you're on the Legacy interface and this tutorial is the right one for you.

(If you see 'Players' instead, you're on our Enterprise Interface—please use the Enterprise tutorial linked here.)

First, you will need to copy the URL from the Youtube Video you want to integrate into your Playlist. (If you already have your Youtube Video URL, you can skip steps 1-3)

1. Go to the video on Youtube that you want to add to your playlist

2. Click on the "Share" button below the video

3. Now select "Copy" next to the video's URL

Now that you have the URL, you can begin the steps on your truDigital playlist

4. Go to "Manage Playlist"

5. Select "Edit Playlist"

6. Click on "Template Library"

7. Find the template listed as "Integration - YouTube Live" and select "Install"

8. Once installed, it will show in your My Templates tab, Click on the Youtube Live template and select "Edit"

9. Select "Edit Template" in the top left corner

10. Click on the box that shows "Edit Mode Active"

11. Now you will check the box to agree to Youtube's Terms of Services and click "Save"

12. Now you will paste the URL from the Youtube video you want to add and then select "Save"

(This is the URL you copied on step #3)

13. Now select "Save Changes" in the top left

14. Once more, "Save Changes"

15. You should see the Video showing on the template now, select "Back"

The Youtube Template is ready to be used in your playlist-

16. Now under Live Playlist, select "Edit"

17. Click and Drag the Youtube Live template from your "My Templates" over to the "Live Playlist"

18. Now that its included in your "Live Playlist", you need to set the duration of the Youtube template to the same length of the video -- Once you have the duration set, click "Save"

The Youtube video is now on your Live Playlist and your truDigital player will download the updated playlist within the next few minutes.
