Troubleshooting: Web Page Integration

What can I display?

  • The web page integration allows you to display a web page by inputting a URL to the page you want.  This integration is generally intended for company or personal websites where you have full control over the page.  Usually larger content creators (such as news and sports sites, weather site, or any other that makes revenue from content) will have restrictions about displaying their pages on outside devices.

Template Requirements

  • This integration requires a constant, reliable and stable internet connection at all times.
  • Streaming live TV or a video will not work.
  • All web pages must be running HTML5 – Flash, Java and Silverlight are not supported.

Site displaying in browser preview but not on the player

  • Ensure that the player has an active internet connection. You can view your player's connection status on the Player Status Page.
  • If the web page is complex, it can take longer to load on the player. Try increasing the duration of the Web Page template in your playlist to 30 or 60 seconds.
  • This integration requires a stable internet connection. Try running an internet test on the player to determine the network speed (with the remote control: Home button > Help > Run Internet Test). If it is lower than 5mbps, then it may be too slow for the player to load the page consistently.
  • Some sites have compatibility issues with the web player on truDigital devices. If you suspect this is the case, contact us at support@trudigital.net so we can take a look.

"HTTP / HTTPS Conflict"

  • If you see this error in the template, it is caused by your link starting with "http://" instead of "https://". The browser preview will not work, but the site may display correctly on your player.

Gray screen with "Refused to connect" error

  • This means that the site has been configured to not allow external sites like truDigital to view its content. Websites for large content creators like news organizations will often have this restriction. If you are an administrator of the website, you can allow truDigital's WebPage integration to view your site by setting the following option in your site's Header:
Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors 'self' https://*.trudigital.net
