Enterprise Tutorial: Integration - PowerBI 2025

We’ve refreshed our Power BI integration to make your experience even smoother. With a single setup, you can now display Power BI dashboards and reports seamlessly across multiple devices.

This updated PowerBI template needs to be manually added to your templates, if you haven't already, reach out to your Account Manager or support@trudigital.net for options.



To confirm you're using the Enterprise version, check the left-hand menu.

If you see 'Players,' you're on the Enterprise interface and this tutorial is the right one for you.

Step 1 - From your Dashboard, select "Media Manager" on the left




Step 2 - Select "New Template"




Step 3 - Search "Power" to find the integration, click the PowerBI template with the blue background. select Next

This updated PowerBI template needs to be manually added to your templates, if you haven't already, reach out to your Account Manager or support@trudigital.net for options.



Now that it is installed, you'll see it listed in your Media Manager and you just need to configure it to display your PowerBI Dashboards or Reports now.



Step 4 - Hover over the PowerBI template, click the paint brush to edit




Step 5 - click "Edit Template"






Step 6 - click the block within the dotted red line




Step 7 - Click "Connect Microsoft Account"






Step 8 -  Select your Microsoft Account 

or Login to Microsoft if you are brought to a login screen




Step 9 - Review the required permissions then approve access

Note: Requested permissions may be different from what is displayed in the image below.




Step 10 - After successfully connecting, click "Close Window"




After closing the window, you should be back on the Edit Microsoft template screen with a section to paste your Dashboard URL






Now the template set up is almost done but before you paste your URL and finish -- 



Before your PowerBI Dashboard, Report, Data can display correctly. You will need to adjust/confirm two settings. 
1. Enable Service Principal API Access
2. Add Service Principal to your PowerBI Workspace
** View that set up by clicking here. **





Once you have adjusted/confirmed those settings above, you can continue with the last steps to add your URL.



Step 11 - find and copy the Dashboard/Report or Data URL that you want to display.






Step 12 - Go back to the tab that has truDigital Signage open


Step 13 - PASTE the URL and click Save





Step 14 - Hover over Save Changes in the top left and click the green "Save Changes"






Now the Integration is ready to use. 


You can display multiple PowerBI URLs by copying the template—simply click the template, select Copy, and edit or you can install another by searching power in New Templates. 

(Don’t forget to rename each one for clarity.)
