Steps for updated truDigital PowerBI Template


With a single setup, you can now display Power BI dashboards and reports seamlessly across multiple devices.

✓ Control and display real-time dashboards and reports




Starting from your truDigital Dashboard:



Step 1 - Click on "Slipstream" then select "New Job" to access your templates




Step 2 - in the top right, type in Microsoft to find the new PowerBI template.



Step 3 - click on the template "NEW Integration - Microsoft PowerBI Display" and select Edit






Step 4 - click "Edit Template"





Step 5 - click the block within the dotted red line



Step 6 - Click "Connect Microsoft Account"





Step 7 -  Select your Microsoft Account 

or Login to Microsoft if you are brought to a login screen




Step 8 - Review the required permissions then approve access

Note: Requested permissions may be different from what is displayed in the image below.



Step 9 - After successfully connecting, click "Close Window"




After closing the window, you should be back on the Edit Microsoft template screen with a section to paste your Dashboard URL






Now the template set up is almost done but before you paste your URL and finish -- 



Before your PowerBI Dashboard, Report, Data can display correctly. You will need to adjust/confirm two settings. 
1. Enable Service Principal API Access
2. Add Service Principal to your PowerBI Workspace
** View that set up by clicking HERE. **





Once you have adjusted/confirmed those settings above, you can continue with the last steps to add your URL.



Step 10 - find and copy the Dashboard/Report or Data URL that you want to display.






Step 11 - Go back to the tab that has truDigital Signage open


Step 12 - PASTE the URL and click Save




Step 13 - Hover over Save Changes in the top left and click the green "Save Changes"





Now the Integration is ready to use. 


If you want to display multiple PowerBI URL's, you can simply click the template and Copy it to edit and add another dashboard.
