A new feature in app version 2.11.1 called Reconnection Assistant aims to help players get reconnected to problem WiFi networks. This update is available for players with serials beginning in d076 or 900eb. For those players, they may lose connection due to signal issues, network changes, or something else and fail to check in until the player has been rebooted or had the network info reprogrammed. If you are experiencing this on your network, you can try reconnection assistant.
To enable it, simply open Settings>Network and turn on Reconnection Assistant. The default settings for this function should be sufficient for most situations.
For those that would like to fine-tune their settings, you can adjust the properties by clicking Reconnection Assistant Settings. The parameters are:
Estimated Reboot time: the amount of time the player will take to power cycle itself. If there is some lag in the environment, you may want to increase this time.
Connection attempts before scheduling reboot: this is how many times the player will attempt to cycle its network settings before power cycling itself.
Max number of reboots: if a player fails to reconnect after recycling its network settings, the player will reboot. It will then check for internet connection again and repeat the process if none is found. In order to avoid a player constantly rebooting, you can limit the number of times this happens.
WiFi Check Interval in Minutes: This is how frequently the player will check to see whether it has an active internet connection. Since players only check in to the server every 10 minutes, there's not much reason to lower this value.
Toast notifications for reboot cycle: This will provide a pop up notification to let you know whether internet was found. For troubleshooting purposes only.
